Is Love Worth the Heartbreak?

October 29, 2012 by Jill Prescott

Love
Love

It’s not Love that scares the crap outta me. It’s the moment you tell someone you Love them and realize the complete and utter vulnerability that comes along with it. Even when you know it’s mutual. Suddenly, there’s the absolute knowledge that at some point you’re going to get your heart broken. And not because you think or believe the relationship will end, but because no matter how much Love you create, things will happen between the two of you that will break your heart.

So, is Love Worth the Heartbreak?

We get our hearts broken most every day. Walking down the street and seeing a young person begging for spare change breaks my heart. Seeing an adult embarrass their young child by punishing them in public breaks my heart. Seeing the garbage that washes up on the shores of your oceans breaks my heart. Not in a way that ends with me being a weeping mess in bed for a few days, but heartbroken non the less.

We say those words and open our selves up for heartbreak. So why do we do it? Because it’s worth it. Always.

Yes, Love is Worth the Heartbreak.

Go, tell them you Love them. Start with yourself…
